  • Will Rogers was an American politician, writer and American newspaper editor. He was the eldest son of humorist Will Rogers and Betty Blake Rogers. Was also a US Democratic Representative from California, an important event in his life was that he resigned to return to the United States Army.

  • Fort Sill = Home to the US Army Field Artillery, Fort Sill was a frontier cavalry post and went on to be one of the most important military installations in the United States.

  • Midwest City = this city was founded in 1942 by Oklahoma businessman and builder W.P. “Bill” Atkinson. This businessman learned of the US Army's desire to build a new airfield in the center of the country, the largest military base ever built, and he knew that downtown Oklahoma was the perfect location. He bought thousands of land that had no activities and started to build a city, this independent city for military and civilian workforce was created.

  • Spartan School of Aeronautics = this base became known in the USA and in the allied countries in the second war. Many people came from all over the world to train at the Spartan School of Aeronautics. During WWII and the Korean War, the Spartan School of Aeronautics trained pilots and mechanics for the US Armed Forces and Allied Forces, including the British Royal Air Force.
