There are different names used for Police force. The secret police group who supported Lenin’s government were referred to as the Bolsheviks.

The Bolsheviks are known to be a part of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union . The Bolshevik which also are called Reds, came to power in Russia within the Russian Revolution phase of the 1917 Russian Revolution.

They are known to have founded the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR). The Bolsheviks were founded by Vladimir Lenin and led by Alexander Bogdanov.

<h3>Why did Lenin create a secret police?</h3>

  • The Cheka was formed within the wake of the October 1917 revolution, as alittle agency to research and affect threats to the new regime.
  • It was to be the “sword and shield of the revolution”, defending the new regime against its enemies within.

Thus,the Bolsheviks are known for the secret police supported the Lenin's government.
