Give me a topic sentence of Brown Girl Dreaming.
forsale [732]

Answer:

Jacqueline Woodson tells her memoir “Brown Girl Dreaming” from the first-person, limited-omniscient, present-tense point of view of herself as a child. She does this for several reasons. First and foremost, the memoir being told is Jacqueline’s, and there is no better person to tell her childhood story than herself. Second, this allows Jacqueline to communicate intimate thoughts, ideas, and feelings with the reader directly, allowing them to see and feel things as she did. It also allows readers a sort of intimacy as if the story was being told by one friend to another. The limited-omniscient aspect lends itself to Jacqueline telling the story as her child-self in present-tense, and not knowing everything going on in the world around her, but having vague ideas or inclinations about events and circumstances beyond her control.

Essay Analysis How It Feels to be Colored Me
mel-nik [20]

Answer:

Hurston describes herself as a brown bag among white, yellow, and red bags. Each bag has a jumble of contents both marvelous and ordinary, such as a “first-water diamond” or a “dried flower or two still a little fragrant.” The differently colored bags are Hurston's central metaphor for her mature understanding of race.

Read the passage about dogs in the classroom. Which two sentences give the best description of the passage?
Blababa [14]

Answer: I read the book about dogs

the two sentences that best describe this passage are "being around pets benefits kids who need to learn responsibility." and "a study by the University of California found that reading to dogs improved third graders' reading skills."

together these two sentences sum up all of the ideas in the article and explain all of the benefits described. the second sentence sums up the majority of the article and choosing the one about improving a children's ability to learn would be repetitive. and the other about it being good for the teachers isn't mentioned in the article at all.

the study is the most important part of the passage and covers pretty much the entire beginning of it. the responsibility was kind of added in as a "hey this is a thing too" but it really showcases how beneficial the dogs are to kids and that's what the message of the article is
