The Gobi Desert is so dry because it so happens to be B. in the Himalayan rain shadow.

The Gobi Desert is part of the areas in the Himalayan rain shadow which means that:

 • It gets very few rainfall
 • It only gets rain that did not fall on the Himalayas

Frontal rainfall is such that it rains on one side of a mountain and then rains very little on the rain shadow. Gobi Desert is in that rain shadow and so get little rain.

In conclusion, Gobi Desert is dry because it is on the side of the Himalayas that receives less rain.
