1. The life cycle of silk moth starts when a female silk moth lays eggs. The caterpillar or larvae are hatched from the eggs of

the silk moth. The silkworms feed on mulberry leaves and give rise to pupa. In the pupa stage, a weave is netted around by the silkworm to hold itself. After that it swings its head, spinning a fibre made of a protein and becomes a silk fibre. Several caterpillars form a protective layer around pupa and this covering is known as the cocoon. The silk thread (yarn) is obtained from the silk moth’s cocoon.
2.Fibre (especially wool) souring involves these of hot water and detergents to remove soil, vegetable impurities, grease and other contaminants from fibers . Scouring with alkali breaks down natural oils and surfactants and suspends impurities in the bath.

What causes formation of the fertilization envelope?
Sonja [21]

Answer:

Sperm-egg interaction

Explanation:

The formation of fertilization envelope is well-studied on the model system- sea urchin. It has been shown that, the fertilization envelope is formed after the initial sperm-egg interaction from the egg surface vitelline envelope and the paracrystalline protein fraction which is derived from cortical granules. Secretion from cortical granules, prevents polyspermy.
