Explanation:

Impeachment is a procedure used to disqualify a President or other senior official. According to the Constitution, prosecution for treason, bribery, or other misconduct and violations may occur. These formulations are quite open to interpretation, so that, in addition to crime, they may be prosecuted for political misconduct.  

At federal level, a person is prosecuted by the House of Representatives and voted on by the Senate. The procedure has mostly been used to dismiss federal judges after misconduct. Only three presidents (including current President Trump, whose Impeachment is currently going) and one Supreme Court judge have been impeached and none of them has led to the case.
