Which factor contributed to the growth of the middle class in the late 1800s?
jolli1 [7]

The factor that contributed to the growth of the middle class in the late 1800s is "the lure of new, high-paying, high-skill manufacturing jobs."

  • This is because, towards the end of the 1800s, the United States of American economy moved or transitioned away from agriculture to an industrial economy.
  • Also, this is evident through many railroad construction and the western territory expansion which led to more jobs, business, and manufacturing of goods.

Hence, in this case, the correct answer is "The factor that contributed to the growth of the middle class in the late 1800s is "the lure of new, high-paying, high-skill manufacturing jobs."
