Mary Beth Tinker and several of her friends/siblings wore black armbands with a peace symbol on them to protest the United States involvement in Vietnam. The students were punished for wearing the armbands. Tinker argued that this punishment violated her first amendment right of freedom of speech. Tinker ends up winning the decision in the Supreme Court.
New Jersey vs. TLO- TLO was a student accused of selling drugs in school.
