Charles Dickens had a very negative view about the Industrial Revolution.  There were abuses that sprang during that period.  Unsafe working conditions and long hours were just of the hardships that workers had to endure during this period.  Even children had to work under such conditions. He called for improvements in the way people worked during this period.
