The answer to this question is C. the shooting of an unarmed rider. I just took the test on Penn Foster and it was right.

Wiesel's overall attitude towards the United States appears to be quite hopeful, in certain aspects. He discusses at length to a degree of how we, as people, we brave - and sought to fight for the greater good. It appears that he is respectful and somewhat grateful. But, there is also a hint of remorse for the lives lost in this war.
Hopefully, this helps! =)
I opted for choice "C", I believe it is the answer.
This tells me that Ralph has a lot of weight on his back. Everyone depends on him which makes him stressed and not want to deal with anything. He doesn't want to be the leader. This moment foreshadow's that something is going to come up and Ralph needs to take the leader position.
Best of luck,
