The First World War had an enormous impact on US politics, culture, and society. Advocates of female suffrage successfully linked the patriotic efforts of women in the war with voting rights. This strategy was highly effective, and in 1920, the US Congress ratified the Nineteenth Amendment, which guaranteed women the right to vote.
Others were not so lucky. Hyper-vigilance on the home front led to spontaneous outbreaks of violence against groups whose loyalty to the United States was considered suspect. German-Americans, labor activists, suffragists, immigrants, African Americans, and socialists were subjected to threats, harassment, imprisonment, and physical violence.
At the same time, civil liberties were sharply curtailed. The Espionage Act of 1917 and the Sedition Act of 1918 criminalized the expression of antiwar sentiment and criticism of the US government and armed forces. Voluntary associations were created to identify dissidents, and many of these worked together with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to patrol the home front and punish perceived “enemies.

Answer: Women's Suffrage: The role of women changed during Great War, and many women took on the jobs of men. The influence and expectations of women and their role in society increased.

There was a boom in the economy and industries were enjoying an increase in profits. However inflation was high and, in an attempt to reduce operating costs, businesses laid off workers and reduced wages.

Strikes: 1919 saw a massive wave of strikes in what was called the Red Summer. By the end of 1919 more than 3,600 strikes, involving more than 4 million workers, had erupted due to high inflation levels and wage drops.

schepotkina [342]
Additional money on Social Security can actually lead to an increased security in the country, something the military also wants to achieve.

Specifically, it will decrease a number of people in desperate positions who are more likely to commit crimes.

So for example, decreasing poverty can be more effective as a anti-terrorism measure because it decreases people's desperation, which often leads them to join gangs and terrorist groups.

Answer:

Learning from the past is the best way to prevent it in the future.

Explanation:

History tends to repeat itself.

Here's The History Teacher by Billy Collins

The History Teacher

Trying to protect his students' innocence

he told them the Ice Age was really just

the Chilly Age, a period of a million years

when everyone had to wear sweaters.

And the Stone Age became the Gravel Age,

named after the long driveways of the time.

The Spanish Inquisition was nothing more

than an outbreak of questions such as

"How far is it from here to Madrid?"

"What do you call the matador's hat?"

The War of the Roses took place in a garden,

and the Enola Gay dropped one tiny atom

on Japan.

The children would leave his classroom

for the playground to torment the weak

and the smart,

mussing up their hair and breaking their glasses,

while he gathered up his notes and walked home

past flower beds and white picket fences,

wondering if they would believe that soldiers

in the Boer War told long, rambling stories

designed to make the enemy nod off.

Katen [24]
Why did the War of 1812 end?

Answer: A large British army under Sir George Prevost was thus forced to abandon its invasion of the U.S. northeast and retreat to Canada. The American victory on Lake Champlain led to the conclusion of U.S.-British peace negotiations in Belgium, and on December 24, 1814, the Treaty of Ghent was signed, ending the war.
