London's killer fog of the year 1952 was due to extreme weather conditions and industrial pollution in London.

The killer fog was a combination of both smoke and fog on the streets of London.

This resulted into a lot of death in the city and brought activities to a halt. The lethal fog happened for a period of 5 days.

This incidence was what lead to strict measures for the control of air pollution in London. It led to the passage of the Clean Air law in 1956 by the British government.

Why do these germany soldiers write "paris* on their train?<br>
Ede4ka [16]

Answer:

They are heading to Paris.

Explanation:

I could not find this exact picture anywhere, but I was able to find a different picture of German soldiers heading somewhere else and they had written all over that train as well. The picture was described as German soldier headed to *I forgot where*. The writing shows their enthusiasm. So I am assuming that they are enthusiastic about going to Paris. Hope this helps.

Since the 1918 flu, there has been a relative lack of global
mixer [17]
pandemics

A pandemic is the spread of a disease over a whole country or the whole globe.  The flu pandemic of 1918 was the worst in history, infecting about a third of the world's overall population at the time and resulting in the deaths of an estimated 20 to 50 million people.

In the years since the 1918 flu pandemic, no other disease outbreak has killed so many ... until the HIV/AIDS pandemic that began in 1981.  Since 1981, AIDS has resulted in the deaths of about 36 million people.  But that's over several decades of time, whereas the flu pandemic in the early 20th century killed that many (or more) in just a year's time.
