London's killer fog of the year 1952 was due to extreme weather conditions and industrial pollution in London.

The killer fog was a combination of both smoke and fog on the streets of London.

This resulted into a lot of death in the city and brought activities to a halt. The lethal fog happened for a period of 5 days.

This incidence was what lead to strict measures for the control of air pollution in London. It led to the passage of the Clean Air law in 1956 by the British government.
