In Chapter 28, Scout and Jem go to the Halloween pageant and are attacked on their walk home. While they are walking, they get the sense that they are being followed and think that it must be Cecil Jacobs. Their follower attacks them, but they manage to get away when their attacker gets attacked. Later, they find out that it was Bob Ewell who attacked them, and Boo Radley saved them by killing Bob Ewell.
