Answer:

A split second can change a person's life forever.

Izzy, a fifteen-year-old high school cheerleader, has it all: a loving family, wonderful friends, and a spot on the squad. In the end, she loses her right leg in a car accident after going on a date with a senior.

Everything is suddenly different. Even the smallest of tasks can grow into massive undertakings. Friends do not seem to know what to say or do when they are with her. However, her family does not want to deal with how much she is suffering.

Rosamunde then offers a stinging friendship proposal. When Izzy was younger, she would have been friends with someone like Rosamunde, but she is nothing like that now. Rosamunde, on the other hand, may be the only one who can assist Izzy in confronting her new demon.

Answer:

“With one boy in particular my mother had to sit me down and explain.”

Perhaps this one “boy” doesn’t want to be a boy anymore and gets offended when the main character refers to them as a “guy” or was never a guy to begin with. In that case it would make sense that the boy would get offended
