A theme which talks about the sense of pride which a person has and gives him an <em>individual feeling</em> of self worth shows that the person wants to have his independence or values freedom.

With this in mind, we ca see that when we connect it to the African history of <em>colonial rule</em> and eventual independence gotten from their colonial masters, it is easy to see that a person who has a self worth would <em>not be comfortable </em>being<em> ruled by invaders</em>, but being ruled by his own people.
