The term mimetic is associated with "imitation" so it might be said that during the 1800, literature tried to replicate or portray real life in the stories. that is to say, novels were based on realism so they were considered unique and a revelation because it was a new way of writing.

But in this occasion, the metaphor is used to describe the school as a battlefield, in that there are police forces keeping the angry people from attacking the black students, who are entering the buses to be taken home. The theme used in the excerpt
from the act I of Shakespeare’s Macbeth is treachery. It is shown from the
words coming from Macbeth that her lover is treacherous. She knows that her
lover is evil and that she is being deceived by him under false actions towards
her. Macbeth is a tragedy of fate of character.
Reality would be my guess. Looking in a mirror gives you a look a yourself and what you've become, making it the reality.
