Read the excerpt from The Hot Zone. They closed up their suits and lumbered across the staging area to a large air-lock door. Th
Nikolay [14]

Answer:

Staging area

Supply air lock

Hot zone.

Explanation:

The term "jargon" refers to the use of certain words or phrases that is understandable only for people within that same circle. This use of vocabulary which is peculiar to a certain trade, profession, or circle is known as jargon. In short, jargons are words that we do not use in everyday conversations.

In the given excerpt, the use of jargon is seen in the phrases like "staging area", "supply air lock", "hot zone". These terms are used to refer to the particular place that will help them get to another place, the supply air lock being the pipe that supplies air into one part of the whole set-up, and the hot zone referring to the main scene or place where the experiments are done or the virus is most prominent.

Thus, the three jargons are "staging area, supply air lock, hot zone".

Elis [28]
ADVISE : First off, never start your thesis statement off like " i'm going to tell you" or " In this." you want to grab the reader, and make the reader want to read more. You could start your thesis with a quote from O'Conner or a random quote about your subject. This tends to grab the reader, if they like the quote. You may also start your your thesis with a question that you may think people will have about the short story, or you had  while reading the short story, you MUST answer this question in your writing though. Secondly, try not to make your thesis so long, this may lead the reader to bordome, but also dot make your thesis to short

Why would a news broadcast use a reader instead of a live shot? Give an example of a story that would be better suited for a rea
Nitella [24]

Answer:

They could not have live footage or footage at all, or images might be too cruel or harsh for television.

Explanation:

A story better suited for a reader could be some investigative journalism of things that happened in the past and we do not have footage of it, or for example threats to national security over letters, or things that are simply too cruel for television and we do not want to show those images. Bombings or other hard images can also be better shown in readers if you don't want to leave a hard impression on your audience.
