You are a contractor and charge 45$ for a site visit plus an additional 24$ per hour for each hour you spend working on the site

.Write and solve an equation to determine how many total hours you have to work to earn 810$ working on two spectate sites

The equation relating this should be linear since the increase in amount earned is constant throughout which is $24 per hour. The equation is in the form:

y = mx + b

where,

y = earning

m = slope or earning per hour = $24

x = total number of hours

b = y intercept or initial earning upon visit = $45

Hence,

y = 24x + 45

Since we are working at two separate work sites, therefore each site we must earn 810/2 = 405

 So when y = 405:

405 = 24x + 45

x = 15 hours

So you must work 15 hours at each site, 30 in total.

What is the sum of a 7-term geometric series if the first term is 6, the last term is 24,576, and the common ratio is 4?
mash [69]

Answer:

The sum is 32766.

Step-by-step explanation:

The 7 terms of the series are as follows:

n_i = 6\cdot 4^i\,\,\,\mbox{for}\,\,\, i=0,1,...,6

namely: 6, 24, 96, 384, 1536, 6144, 24576

and their sum is 32766.

If cos θ =-2/5 and tan θ > 0, what is the value of sin θ?
dezoksy [38]
If the value of cos(θ) is negative, this angle (θ) can only be in one of two quadrants; the sine quadrant or the tan quadrant. In the sine quadrant, tan(θ) must be negative, but since tan(θ) > 0, we can safely say that the angle (<span>θ) is based in the tan quadrant.

We know that cos(</span><span>θ) = - Adjacent / Hypotenuse, and in this case Adjacent = 2 and Hypotenuse = 5. Using Pythagoras' theorem, we can find the opposite side of the right angled triangle situated in the tan quadrant...

</span>Adjacent² + Opposite² = Hypotenuse²

Therefore:

2² + Opposite² = 5²

Opposite² = 5² - 2²

Opposite² = 21

Opposite = √(21)

------------

Now, sin(θ) must be negative, as the right angled triangle is in the tan quadrant. We also know that sin(<span>θ) = Opposite / Hypotenuse, therefore:

sin(</span><span>θ) = - [</span>√(21)]/[5]
