Answer:

 • AMOEBA:-An amoeba, often called an amoeboid, is a type of cell or unicellular organism which has the ability to alter its shape, primarily by extending and retracting pseudopods. Amoebae do not form a single taxonomic group; instead, they are found in every major lineage of eukaryotic organisms
 • REPRODUCTION:-Amoeba reproduces asexually by the process called binary fission. Binary fission occurs in single- celled organisms belonging to Kingdom Monera, and Protista (Amoeba and paramecium). In this process, the parent organism divides into two halves, each half forming an independent daughter organism
 • CHARACTERSTICS:-Amoeboid cells are able to change shape due to the parts of the skeleton of the cell known as the cytoskeleton and plasmagel that changes the consistency of the cell's cytoplasm. Amoeboid cells use a pseudopodia, or false foot, to move forward. They carry-out phagocytosis, which is to eat or ingest other cells.
 • HABITAT:-The habitat of amoebas consists of small areas of water such as freshwater pools, ponds, lakes, streams, and ditches. They can also be found in salt
 • LOCOMOTION:-Amoeba move very slowly and its locomotion is irregular. Amoeba move with the help of special type of finger-like out growth known as pseudopodium (Plural-pseudopodia). ... In this way Amoeba advances towards its target. It can form pseudopodia at any part of its body and always move at the direction of pseudopodia

Which Texan leader was most in favor of annexation by the United states?
yawa3891 [41]

The correct answer is:

Sam Houston

Explanation:

Samuel Houston (1793-1863) was an American politician and lawyer who played a big role in the annexation of Texas to the United States.

Houston was the main leader of the Battle of San Jacinto, were Santa Ana was forced to recognize Texas as an independent nation. After that, Sam Houston was elected President of the Republic of Texas.

Although some people in Texas did want to be part of the United States, a lot of Americans were already living in Texas and wanted to become a state because being part of the United States Nation would get better protection, economic trades, and other benefits. Sam Houston was one of them, one argument Houston made was that Texas could not defend itself against hostile foreign powers.

Texas annexation was delayed because Northern states did not wanted slavery to expand and Texas was a slave state, Houston thought that if European countries were interested in Texas, the United States would admit them, so he sent J. Pinkney Henderson to England and France to negotiate trade alliances and secure Texas recognition.

However, it was until Sam Houston's second term that annexation was achieved, after long negotiations with United States President John Tyler, The House of Representatives voted to make Texas a state, and on December 1845 James K. Polk, the following President of United States signed the annexation of Texas.
