- The ongoing Cyprus dispute: is a conflict between the two communities that coexist in the island: Turkish and Cypriots (connected to the Greek culture). - Iraq: ethnic conflicts due to the divisions between the Sunni and Shi'ite factions in Iraq. Concerns emerged with the arrival of Sadam Hussein to power. The conflict stills ongoing nowadays.
