Answer:

Explanation:

There it was, finally. Our island. Our very own island. It looked beautiful above the waves of fog, but there was still one question to be answered: why had they sold it to us for only five dollars? I looked over at my friend only to see that he was missing, vanished… gone. I mentally screamed at myself to turn around, to go back! But there was no going back… the boat that took us here had left and I was stuck here, all alone on an island of our very own… A stick cracked behind me. I spun around to meet a beast, nose to muzzle. It growls at me menacingly, It was then that I realized why they had sold this place so cheap, beasts ran freely here, probably looking for prey… Would this beast attack me? I wanted to run, to get as far away from there as possible! And then, I realized I was stuck, there was nowhere to go, nowhere to run. The boat was gone, I had given up. My friend was gone, nowhere to be seen, I was all alone and about to be attacked by a carnivorous beast. It lunged at me, its claws dig deep into my skin, deep enough to make me bleed to death… I fall. Everything is blurry, it’s all covered in white and I hear a shout, my friend ran over to me, how we had gotten separated in merely a few seconds, I wouldn’t live long enough to know…

So, here I am now, bleeding out on the surface of an island…

An Island All Our Own.

Why are different cultures and beliefs represented in Beowulf?
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

Religion is a touchy issue in Beowulf, because the story is told in late medieval Anglo-Saxon Britain, which has been Christianized, but it's about early medieval Scandinavia, which is pagan. The narrator of the poem compromises by making constant references to God's decrees in general terms, but never discussing Jesus or the specific tenets of Christianity.
