The Time Machine

It was 21st June 2157 and Professor Jones was still busy with his experiments. Suddenly, his ten-year old son Tommy came into his lab and asked, "What's this? Looks like a time machine. Am I right Dad?" Mr Jones replied, "Yes, you are. My son is like me only. You guessed it right at one go." Tommy said, "Oh, that means I can go back to the Old Age. Wow! That is intriguing. I just can't wait for this journey." "Yes, you will. But not now. There are some parts which are left to be complete...Oh it's 1 pm now. Let's have our lunch." said Mr Jones and he and Tommy left the place.

An intruder came into the lab secretly. Watching the time machine, he said to himself, "Other than robbery, I have meagre knowledge about other fields. But still I bet anyone that this is a time machine. Oh, what if I go back in the 17th century? There were many monarchs at that time and they had many riches. Yeah, a good burglary. Let me execute the plan." He went inside the time machine and pressed a button, which took him back not into the 17th century, but to the Mesozoic Era. When he landed, he saw there was nothing but tall trees and fields. Then, suddenly, he saw a T-Rex coming towards him from among the trees. He cried and shouted, "Help! Help!" But you know, in the Mesozoic Era, not a single human lived, but the world was dominated by dinosaurs. So, there is no one to hear him. And the T-Rex gobbled him up! And that was the end of his robbery life.

Hope you could get an idea from here.

if ur cam works and is set up on ur computer to use.. wats it mean when it says cant support wat ur tryin to use it for?
IrinaK [193]
This most likely means it is not compatible with either the program or the computer itself. If it clearly isn't an issue with the camera being broken, then its just that it doesn't work with exactly what you're trying to use it with. Hope this helps!

Which line is made up of trochees? A. it's unusually hot. B. Consider what i say C. Pardon me for asking. D. Tackle the quarterb
Nutka1998 [239]

The line that is made up of trochees is:

C. Pardon me for asking.

What are trochees?

Trochees are kinds of words where a stressed syllable comes before an unstressed syllable. In the selected sentence above, we can see that the first word, which is "Pardon" combines a stressed and unstressed syllable.

The stressed syllable is the "par" part of the word while the second half, "don" is the unstressed part of the word. So, we can say that option D contains trochees.

A novel's main character, Jefferson, refuses to speak to his sister because she hurt his feelings when she lied to him. What kin
Marat540 [252]

This question is missing the options. I've found the complete question online. It is the following:

A novel’s main character, Jefferson, refuses to speak to his sister because she hurt his feelings when she lied to him. What kind of conflict is driving Jefferson’s actions?

A. character vs. nature

B. character vs. society

C. character vs. self

D. character vs. character

Answer:

The kind of conflict driving Jefferson's actions is:

D. character vs. character

Explanation:

A conflict is a struggle between two opposing forces. In literature, there are some common types of conflict, such as character vs. self, character vs. society, or character vs. nature. Conflicts can also be external (caused by an outside force) or internal (taking place in the character's mind).

According to the instructions in the question, the kind of conflict described is character vs. character, that is, Jefferson vs. his sister. The two characters are the opposing forces in this case. Their struggle was caused by the sister lying to Jefferson, which led him to refuse to speak to her.
