Stage directions add to the reader’s understanding of the characters in this excerpt because this gives the audience the ability to try to visualize what the characters are doing and how they go about their day.

Answer: The stage directions show actors and readers how to picture the scene in your mind. For actors, <u>it helps on acting itself</u>, so they have to behave, dress, speak, and even look in a specific way that the audience watching is able to <u>understand what do the characters mean</u>. For readers, it's just a matter to really imagine the scene happening in their heads with as many details as possible.

The tenor, mode, and field
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

Expressive

Explanation:

The tenor, mode, and field of discourse are three parameters related to the meaning "EXPRESSIVE."

The above statement is true because all the three attributes of discourse, when combined, allow people to express themselves effectively. The three attributes are expressive in the sense that they define entirely the situational context of the message that is being passed in clear terms whether spoken or written.
