Answer:

Volcanic activity

Explanation:

it spews greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, into the atmosphere. These gases reduce albedo because they do not allow particular wavelengths of light to escape into space after hitting the earth’s surface. This is how they cause global warming that results in climate change.

Find the longitude of certain place when it is 2:30 am and time at 70 degree is 1 am?
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

The longitude is 92.5° degrees.

Explanation:

Step 1

Theoretically speaking, it takes 4 minutes for the earth to rotate 1°.

This is arrived at by dividing the total number of minutes in a day by 360° (because the earth is spherical).

Total minutes in a day is arrived at by multiplying 24 hours by 60.

This equals 1440.

To get how many degrees the earth rotates per minute, we divide 1440/360°

This equals 4.

That is every 4 minutes, the earth rotates 1°.

Step 2

There are two locations. The time at one is 1:00 am and the time at the other is 2:30 am. Imagine a straight line, this means the location whose time is 2:30 am is ahead of the location whose time is 1:00 am.

Location B (1:00am)____________________________Location A(2:30am)

Longitude 70° Longitude (70°+X°)

We know the longitude of Location B to be 70°. To get the longitude at location A, we can calculate how many degrees it has taken the earth to rotate from Location B to Location A by dividing the difference in time by 4 minutes. We can then add the difference to the given longitude to get the longitude of Location A.

Difference in time (In minutes) = 2:30am-1:00am

= 1Hr:30 minutes or

= 90 minutes because there are 60 minutes in one hour.

To get how many degrees the earth can rotate in 90 minutes, we divide 90 by 4. This is because we already know that the earth rotates 1° every 4 minutes.

Therefore:

90/4 = 22.5°

So the distance in degrees between Location A and B is 22.5°

Step 3

Since we know the longitude of Location B to be 70°, we add the distance in degrees that the earth has rotated to obtain the new longitude or the longitude of location A.

That is 70° + 22.5° = 92.5°

Therefore the Longitude of Location A (which is ahead of Location B) is 92.5°

Cheers!

With example, list five accurate data sources that map makers can rely on for map making
bekas [8.4K]

Answer:

There are lots of data sources available for map makers online. These data sources provides information on satellite imagery, topographical surveys, aerial photography, populations,natural features, etc. The information they provide is vital for the accuracy of a map.  Some of these sources are;

  1. Natural Earth: A public free domain that provides cultural, physical and basemap data.
  2. USGS Earth Explorer: This data source provides an abundance of satellite and aerial imagery worldwide.
  3. Open Topology: Gives access to a high spatial resolution topographic data and tools like LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) Data.
  4. UNEP Environmental Data Explorer: This is a United Nations based data source. It provides useful data on population, forests, emissions, disasters and GDP of people and places.
  5. Global Map Github: provides useful data on boundaries, drainage, transportation, population centers, elevation, land cover, land use and vegetation of places on earth.

In your own words, define global ethics and global values.
help
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

it may help u...

Explanation:

The term GLOBAL ETHIC refers to a set of common moral values and ethical standards which are shared by the different faiths and cultures on Earth.

These common moral values and ethical standards constitute a humane ethic, or, the ethic of humanity. In view of the process of globalization this ethic of humanity has been termed by the famous Roman Catholic theologian and philosopher Professor Hans Küng as the “GLOBAL ETHIC”.

Although the concept of a GLOBAL ETHIC was at first introduced by Professor Hans Küng in 1989 it is, in his own words, “not a new invention but only a new discovery” of common principles which are as old as humankind.

There can be no doubt that a globalizing world with its tremendous social, ecological and moral problems needs a globalization of moral values and ethical standards, in short: a GLOBAL ETHIC, in order to survive as a place where our grandchildren and great-grandchildren can live a decent life.
