Answer:

My favorite time of the year is naturally the time when I have the most fun. To me, that time of the year falls during the December holidays, or rather, it starts during the last term of school. It may sound strange of me to include the period of examinations. But I like the way teachers leave us, students, by ourselves to do our own revision. There is hardly any homework to be done but there is a lot of studying to take up our time. Finally, when the examinations are over, we can all heave a joyful sigh of relief and look forward to the seemingly eternal holidays stretching out before us. Just before school breaks up for the holidays, there are a host of post-examination activities, among which is mass dancing…show more content…

Orchard Road is illuminated with colorful lights for Christmas. I usually view these lights twice; once before Christmas and once after, sometimes cruising along Orchard Road with my neighbor’s family in a rented van, alongside an ordered mass of other slow-moving vehicles. We usually have a good time on these trips, joking and laughing. Finally, after Christmas, I have to start buying my school-books for the new academic year. These books have “off the press” smell which makes me feel that I have to work hard the following year and make good use of these brand new and precious books which no one has ever used before.

How did the case of Phineas Gage help doctors to better understand the human brain? (Don't forget the RACE strategy! R-Restate t
Musya8 [376]

To answer the question of how Phineas Gage' brain accident helped Doctors better understand the human brain and in a more general sense the human mind, first we need to know some details about the case.

In September 1848 the life of a young worker of the train rails turned around forever due to a working accident. Phineas' work consisted on blowing up rocks using explosives using black powder. It was because of that that the accident took place.

The accident of Phineas is important because it changed the way doctors, more specifically neurologists; see the human brain and their functions. Before the accident and the later documentation of it, doctors had never associated the physical aspects of the brain to behavior, emotions and the "soul". They had never linked that the emotions and actions could be affected by specific parts of the brain.

Here we have evidence to support these assumptions:

"The damage to Gage’s frontal cortex caused by the iron rod seems to have resulted in a loss of social inhibitions. The role of the frontal cortex in social cognition and decision making is now well-recognized; in the 19th century, however, neurologists were only just beginning to realize these connections. Gage’s injuries provided some of the first evidence that the frontal cortex was involved in personality and behavior."

As we can read in the citation above, it was due to Gage's accident that the doctors started to link to a specific area of the brain, the Frontal Cortex, to behavioral changes.

Answer: If someone discovered a formula that would enable us to live forever, then we would have more time to be with our friends and family. This formula would be a blessing, not a curse. ... The formula that allows people to live forever is definitely a blessing. Though discoveing a formula for eternal life would be a miracle but it would not have good outcomes.Because its action would only be to prolog the life quantity but not to improve its quality. As the life goes on and the man starts getting older, his or her capabilities also start declining. So having a very long life is not a good idea from this point of view.

similarly, the population rise would be in forward direction and there will be no decline in olders to give their place to the coming new younger population. In this way population burst may occur and it may lead to depletion of resources. And hunger may prevail everywhere. The number of dependents would be more than earning members and it may lead to crash of country’s economy. So formula for being eternal would be a curse for this earth. And yes if it happens it should also have ability to improve quality of life as well.
