Statement:

R is the midpoint of QS.

To find out:

The measure of QS.

Solution:

 • QR + RS = QS
 • Since R is the midpoint of QS, then QR = RS.
 • QR = 2x + 16, RS = 5x - 17.
 • Therefore, 2x + 16 = 5x - 17
 • or, 2x - 5x = -17 - 16
 • or, -3x = -33
 • or, x = -33 ÷ -3
 • or, x = 11
 • Therefore, QR = 2(11) + 16
 • = 22 + 16 = 38
 • So, QS = 2QR
 • = 2 × 38
 • = 76

Answer:

QS is 76.

Hope you could understand.

On Earth, objects weigh 6 times what
Colt1911 [192]

Answer:

16 pounds.

Step-by-step explanation:

As you said, objects weigh 6 times more than what they weigh on the moon. Therefore, the robot originally weighing 96 pounds will be reduced to 16 pounds.

16*6=96. (Original Weight)

96/6=16. (Weight after being on the moon.)

A varies inversely with the square of r and when r = 4, A = 75. Find r when A = 48

r=
egoroff_w [7]

Answer:

r = 3.2

Step-by-step explanation:

If A varies inversely with the square of r, then A = kr^2

75 = k*4^2 = 16k

k = 75/16

Now A = (75/16)*r^2

48 = (75/16)*r^2

r^2 = 48(16/75) = 256/25

r = \sqrt{\frac{256}{25} } = 16/5 = 3.2
