Using it's concept, it is found that there is a 0.624 probability that the employee is not late for work.

What is a probability?

A probability is given by the number of desired outcomes divided by the number of total outcomes.

Researching in the internet, it is found that the probability that the employee is stopped at any of the traffic lights is as follows:

 • Traffic light A: 0.8.
 • Traffic light B: 0.1.
 • Traffic light C: 0.4.

He will be late if he is stopped at more than 1 traffic light, as he plans to arrive 2 minutes early and each stop takes 2 minutes.

Hence, the probability that he is stopped in at most one light is given by:

p = 0.2(0.9)(0.6) + 0.8(0.9)(0.6) + 0.2(0.1)(0.6) + 0.2(0.9)(0.4) = 0.624

0.624 probability that the employee is not late for work.

a particular car has a fuel efficiency for 8 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. What is the fuel efficiency in miles per gal
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

35.31mpg

Explanation:

From the question given, the efficiency of the fuel in L/100km is given by: 8L/100km.

The efficiency of the fuel in miles per gallon can be obtained as follow:

1L/100km is equivalent to 282.481mpg.

To obtain 8L/100km in miles per gallon, we simply divide 282.481 by 8L/100km as shown below:

8L/100km in mpg = (282.481)/(8L/100km) = 35.31mpg

Therefore, the efficiency of the fuel in miles per gallon is 35.31mpg
