How might American history have been different if Mexico had succeeded in keeping Texas as part of its country?
slamgirl [31]

Half of the US would be part of Mexico, Texas was the first Mexican territory to become part of the US so the rest weren't hard to get since Texas was so big. I personally wish Texas would've stayed because if it would've, Mexico, my country, would be as powerful as the US.

The diffrence between two positive numbers is 7 and the square of thier sum is 289
laila [671]
You can use substitution method
x - y = 7
(x+y)^2=289
So
Since the square of their sum is 298, their sum without being squared is the square root of 289.
Hence,
x - y = 7
x + y = 17
By subtracting you get the following:
= (0) -2(y)=-10
So -2y=-10
y=-10/-2
y=5
Now, plug in y in both equations to get x
x - (5) = 7
x + (5) = 17
Multiply each equation with its opposite y variables
(5) x - (5) = 7
(-5) x + (5) = 17
= 5x -25 = 35
-5x -25 = -85
Now subtract the equations
= 10x + (0) = 120
10x = 120
x = 120/10
x = 12

Which two weaknesses of the articles of confederation were exposed by shays rebellion and influenced the writing of the united s
Afina-wow [57]
The Articles of Confederation was the first written constitution of the United States. Stemming from wartime urgency, its progress was slowed by fears of central authority and extensive land claims by states before was it was ratified on March 1, 1781. Under these articles, the states remained sovereign and independent, with Congress serving as the last resort on appeal of disputes. Congress was also given the authority to make treaties and alliances, maintain armed forces and coin money. However, the central government lacked the ability to levy taxes and regulate commerce, issues that led to the Constitutional Convention in 1787 for the creation of new federal laws.
