1. One factor of why some Loyalists might oppose independence is that, if they went to war with Britain, they would lose all their wealth since they depend on trading with Britain. They wanted to keep all of their wealth and land.

2. Another factor might be that most of them thought that the colonies had no chance against Britain in war. Britain had a huge advantage since they had a large and well trained army and the colonies didn’t. They basically thought that the colonies could not survive on their own without Britain.
