The slope will be the number that always sits next to x. So the slope in this case is 3/1. Which is rise over run. If it was a fraction, like 1/3, that would mean that the slope is rise one, run three.
If you want to find the y-intercept, you do that by putting a zero in for x, so you want to find the point that the line intersects the y-axis. So x would be zero, and wherever that point is is the y-intercept. In this case:
y = 3x - 1

y = 3(0) - 1

3 times 0 is zero

y = - 1 So, the y-intercept is - 1, or (0,-1)

To sketch the graph, you just place any number in for x or y (x is easier in this case), and solve it.
For example, I am going to say that x equals two.

y = 3(2)-1

y = 6-1

y = 5

So, your point to put on the graph would be (2,5) (x,y)

Can you please help me i’ll give extra points
Sauron [17]

First, we need to solve for sin(67°) = 22/x. Multiply each side by x and divide each side by sin(67°)

x = 22/sin(67°) = 23.9

Use pythagorean theorem to find the last side.

a^2 + 22^2 = 23.9^2

a^2 + 484 = 571.21. Subtract each side by 484

a^2= 87.21. Take the square root of each side.

a = 9.3

x = 23.9 and the other side is 9.3

The SAT is standardized to be normally distributed with a mean µ = 500 and a standard deviation σ = 100. What percentage of SAT
Aliun [14]

Answer:

34.134%

68.268%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Mean (m) = 500

Standard deviation (s) = 100

Percentage between 500 and 600

P(500 < x < 600)

P(x < 600) - P(x < 500)

Z = (x - m) / s

P(x < 600)

Z = (600 - 500) /100 = 1

P(x < 500)

Z = (500 - 500) / 500 = 0

P(Z< 1) - P(Z < 0)

0.84134 - 0.5

= 0.34134

= 0.34134 * 100%

= 34.134%

B.) Between 400 and 600

P(x < 400)

Z = (400 - 500) /100 = - 1

P(x < 600)

Z = (600 - 500) / 500 = 1

P(Z< 1 ) - P(Z < - 1)

0.84134 - 0.15866

= 0.68268

= 0.68268 * 100%

= 68.268%
