Answer:

k so,

Explanation:

a) If someone comes looking for my father, I would first try to call my father and put the phone on speaker so that the person can communicate with him. However, if he doesn't pick up then I would tell him to come back at a specific time where I know that my father would be home. However, if this person seems suspicious, I would immediately alert my father by messaging him, tell the stranger that he is currently busy at the moment and I would shut the door and lock it.

b) I would probably ask my classmates for help, or I would try to solve them as fast as possible. If this isn't possible I would try to go online trying to find answers. If that still isn't enough time to finish everything, I would ask my teacher to give me an extension. If they say no, oh well, it is what it is, and I should prepare better next time.

c) I would understand where they are coming from. Telling them would probably ruin their friendship, and trying to keep that friendship from breaking, even I would not tell them and would try to replace it.

d) I would first apologize telling them that I had so much on my mind this year and that I won't forget about it next year because I have always been the first one to wish them a happy birthday the past years. I will definitely keep the promise if that person is my best friend.

Hope this helps :)

How does the euphemism "between assignments" affect the meaning of this sentence?
Anastasy [175]
I believe that it makes this sentence less depressing, if Joe is sad about losing his job. So he used to work as an insurance underwriter for 20 years, but has now left his job to be a freelance journalist. However, this job is obviously not going so well because he is "between assignments." This means that he is not currently writing anything, and is embarrassed to put it that way.

Which excerpt from "How I Learned English" uses first-person point of view to peek into the speaker's mind?
Shalnov [3]

Answer:

I watched it closing in Clean and untouched, transfixed.

Explanation:

Remember, the first person point of view tells us things as they occur from the speaker's mind, opinion or viewpoint.

It usually involves the use of words like 'I', 'me', 'we', 'us', 'myself'. Thus, we can notice the excerpt above uses the word 'I', ultimately indicating the first-person point of view; used to peek into the speaker's mind.

Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

Debate

Explanation:

Bicker has the negative connotation of being judgment filled and critical, argue is slightly better but still not the best choice, debate, on the other hand, is used in more professional settings and carries the generalization of being respectful and calmer meaning debate is the word the best suits the question.
