You are studying two linked genes that influence vine height and fruit color in squash. Yellow color is dominant over green, and
Strike441 [17]

Answer:

22 map units

Explanation:

Linked genes may be defined as the genes present on the same chromosomes and they are inherited to the next progeny. The linked genes produces the recombinant progeny.

Distance between the linked gene = No. of recombinants / total number × 100.

Here the parental are 198 Tall Yellow, 192 Short Green.

The recombinant progeny are 54 Tall Green, and 56 Short Yellow.

Distance = \frac{54+56}{198+192+54+56}\times100

Distance = \frac{110}{500}\times100

Distance = 22 map units.

So, the distance between the genes are 22 map units.

The Wernicke’s area of the brain is responsible for comprehension of language. Wernicke’s aphasia is characterized by problem comprehending spoken language or sentences. In this case, Kichi may respond with grammatically correct sentences but may pepper it with lot of words (sometimes non-existent words) that does not make sense. Kichi may not realize that they are using the wrong words. Because of problems comprehending language, Kichi may face difficulties in reading and writing. Intellectual and cognitive abilities still remain intact.

Our bodies do not make starch, but we often eat plant foods which contain starch which we digest into _____________, the buildin
Orlov [11]
The correct answer is glucose.

Glucose is the major carbohydrate that can be absorbed and used by humans for energy. In animals, glucose is stored as glycogen in the liver and the muscle tissue in contrast to plants wherein they store glucose as amylose and amylopectin (also known as starch). In digestion of starch, it will start with the saliva where the enzyme salivary amylase will break it down to smaller molecules of starch and limit dextrins. These will be further broken down in the intestines using the pancreatic amylase forming di and trisaccharides. These di and trisaccharides will be metabolized by brush border enzyme to eventually produce glucose (and other monosaccharides that can be absorbed such as fructose and galactose).
