In geometry, similar figures are those whose ratios of the  corresponding sides are equal and the corresponding  angles are congruent. In relation to the volume, we determine first the cube roots of the given and find the ratio as shown below.

                         s1 / s2 = cube root of (512/343)
                                    = 8/7
The square of this ratio is the ratio of the areas of the figure. If we let x be the area of the smaller figure then,
                      (8/7)^2 = 192 mm²/ x
The value of x from the equation is 147 mm².

The area therefore of the smaller figure is 147 mm².

Sin A =  opp/hyp = 4/5

Cos A = adj/hyp =  3/5

Tan A = opp/adj =  4/3

Cos 27 = 0.8910065...  --> 0.89

You can just plug that into your graphing calculator, just make sure the degree mode is on.

PLEASE HELP !!!! What is the slope of the line passing through the points (1, −5)(1, −5) and (4, 1)(4, 1)?
valentinak56 [21]
Here's an example... So, in our last example... In the point ( -2, -1 ), x1 = -2 and y1 = -1 ... and, in the point ( 4, 3 ), x2 = 3 and y2 = 3 m = ( y2 - y1 ) / ( x2 - x1 ) = ( 3 - ( -1 ) ) / ( 4 - ( -2 ) ) = 4 / 6 = 2 / 3 But, notice something cool... The order of the points doesn't matter! Let's switch them and see what we get: In the point ( 4, 3 ), x1 = 4 and y1 = 3 ... and, in the point ( -2, -1 ), x2 = -2 and y2 = -1 m = ( y2 - y1 ) / ( x2 - x1 ) = ( -1 - 3 ) / ( -2 - 4 ) = -4 / -6 = 2 / 3 ... Same thing! Let's try our new formula with the second example in the last lesson: It was a line passing through ( -1, 4 ) and ( 2, -2 ) m = ( y2 - y1 ) / ( x2 - x1 ) = ( -2 - 4 ) / ( 2 - ( -1 ) ) = -6 / 3 = -2

A dinner cost $22 and a sales tax of $1.87 was added to the bill. How much would the sales tax be on a $66 dinner? What is the t
alexdok [17]

Answer:

The correct answer is the sales tax charged is $5.61 for $66 dinner at 8.5% tax rate.

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost of the dinner is $22. Tax levied on it is $1.87

Let x% is the rate of tax in the city.

Therefore, x% of 22 = 1.87

⇒ x = 1.87 × \frac{100}{22} = 8.5

Therefore 8.5% is the tax rate in the city on foods.

Now another dinner costs $66.

Tax levied on it at the same percentage is given by 8.5% of 66 = $5.61.

Thus $5.61 as sales tax would be charged for a $66 dinner.
