The next morning, Anthony awoke to laughing and applauding, so he threw on some jeans and a T-shirt and hurried down the hallway
Pepsi [2]

Answer:

he was confused

Explanation:

Note, we are told that, "Anthony awoke to laughing and applauding," in other words, he woke up by an unusual action, "laughing and applauding". This causes Anthony to wonder confusingly what had occurred, which fits in with the definition of the word, "quizzical".

The word quizzical is an adjective that is often used to denote the expression of someone who appears to be confused or amused.

In what ways do you think Walter dean Myers was influenced by his son?
Dvinal [7]
Walter Dean Myers, 73, spoke with his son, Christopher Myers, 36, about his efforts to make an impression on his father. Walter Dean Myers grew up in Harlem, the son of a janitor. He became an author, writing young adult fiction that's especially popular with teenage readers.

After leaving the army, Myers struggled with finding work and figuring out his purpose. ... It wasn't until Myers read the book Sonny's Blues by James Baldwin, which takes place in Harlem and focuses on African American characters, that he was inspired to start writing stories based on his own experiences growing up.

WITCHER [35]

English I, II Bell Ringer

Weeks 21/22, Day 1/ 2

LA.910.1.7.7 The student will compare and contrast elements in multiple texts

(e.g., setting, characters, and problems).

Read the passage and select the best answer.

Scott started nodding off in class. Mrs. Thomas tapped his desk as she passed it.

They started off the school year without a teacher and now that they had a teacher

they missed the substitute teachers. The class took advantage of every substitute

teacher that came in to teach. They would take turns dropping books, pass notes all

period, and take turns pretending to sneeze. Each day a different substitute teacher

would show up and every day they did everything they could think of to annoy

him or her. No one learned anything. The new teacher put an end to their antics.

The more disruptive they were, the more homework they received. It was bad

enough that she gave a ton of homework every night no matter how well behaved

they were. Scott looked over at his teammate Brian and smiled. He couldn’t wait

until the track meet this afternoon. Brian was an expert at the hurdles and Scott

was king of the long jump. Scott was having difficulty in school lately. He was

more interested in staying up late watching television and he was having difficulty

staying awake in class as a result. Brian was also struggling but he was having

trouble sleeping at night due to family problems. It seemed lately that his parents

arguments became louder and louder every night.
