Explanation:

The Attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service upon the United States against the naval base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, just before 08:00, on Sunday morning, December 7, 1941. Japan wanted the US to join the war ( World War Two) but the US did not. So Japan chose to boom one of the Armed Forces bases. So they snuck up of Pearl Harbor Base and boomed them. The attack killed 2,403 U.S. personnel, including 68 civilians, and destroyed or damaged 19 U.S. Navy ships, including 8 battleships and about 1,000 people were wounded. This booming by Japan cause the president at that time ( Franklin D Roosevelt ). Hope this is what you wanted.
