Although she considers herself a slave, she therefore decides to flee her "master" Eddoo towards the shores of Cape Town. Abina and Important Men is an interpretation of the testimony of a young enslaved woman who gained her way to freedom in West Africa in the late 19th century and then sued her former employer.
