Answer:

How many years of foreign language do you need to graduate high school in California?

three years

While only two years are required, the University of California recommends that you take three years of foreign language in high school. Currently, California High School offers instruction in Spanish, French, German, and Latin. This requirement is met by passing 2 semesters of the same Fine Art class.

How many years of a foreign language is required for college in California?

Minimum Foreign Language Eligibility Requirement for Entering a Four-Year College (UC and CSU): Two years required, three years recommended, of the same language with a grade of “C” or higher.

Do have to take a Spanish class in college?

There's no one answer to your question. Many colleges do not require any foreign language. Some may require passing a proficiency test. Some may require more than a high school level of competence.
