Answer:

The word “sacrifice” comes from the Latin terms sacer, meaning something sacred or holy, and facere, meaning “to make.” Before examining the different types of sacrifices people make today, it is important to look at its definition. The first definition refers to traditional religious rituals people made where sacrifices were the killings of animals or humans in order to please their god. These offerings would be made in order to ask for forgiveness for sins, to show thankfulness, or to make a request (like a successful harvest). The second definition describes the modern interpretation which is the “destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else.”The last two definitions describe a term in baseball where a batter would make a “sacrifice bunt” to advance a runner and to “sell something at a loss.” It is the second definition that we use today to describe sacrifices people make in order to achieve their goals, and they can be broken down into several different categories. People, in general, make their own decisions on whether the value or benefit of their goal outweighs the risk of their sacrifice.

Modern sacrifices fit into the following categories: Time, stability, sleep, health, sanity, quiet times, personal life, and immediate desires. In researching famous examples of sacrifice, it is often the first responders to the 9/11 collapse of the World Trade Center that people remember, where over 400 firefighters and police officers lost their lives helping others. In this case and in the military services, sacrifices are made for the greater good. Another example of sacrifice for the greater good is Jackie Robinson’s acceptance into Major League Baseball. He was the first African American player to join, who sacrificed his own safety and his family's safety, in order to fight oppression and pave the way for other black players. In daily life, for example, having kids could sacrifice parents’ time, money and energy, but in the end the child will be happy and successful. Many parents volunteer to coach in Little League Baseball, a great sacrifice of their time. Parents also sacrifice their sleep when they have a baby to feed during the night. Olympic athletes sacrifice their personal lives in order to train for long hours. People who own their own businesses are often not able to take a vacation, for example, sacrificing their personal life, health, sanity, and immediate desires.

The modern use of the word sacrifice mainly refers to the “destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else.” Every person will determine their own goals and decide what they are willing to sacrifice, like their time, if they think the outcome will benefit them. A famous quote to help determine when and how to make a sacrifice is the following: “The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it,” by Henry David Thoreau. One expert, Lori Deschene, who posted this quote on her website tinybuddha.com, says that sacrifices are worth it if a person’s actions align with their values, bring them meaning, they are still able to meet their needs, and they would be satisfied even if they don’t reach their ideal outcome. Similar to the first definition of sacrifice as a religious ritual, modern sacrifices are mostly made as an offer in exchange for something else, either to benefit themselves or someone else.

Elenna [48]

It is true that they might call as the Democratic communist/socialist Party which would imply that they are Democratic inclined.

Explanation:

Democratic Party elites are said to be desperate to have a centrist candidate in 2020 but the situation of autocratic governance in the four decades by the Democratic Party cannot be overlooked. People's views with respect to status quo have faded away and this is something Americans have already realized. Furthermore, political polls evince it.

The only ones who seem to deny it are the established personnel of Democratic Party who have been indirectly guided by the realms of a socialist/communist regime in disguise.
