In the excerpt taken from,' The People Could Fly', the splashing sound of the water is making the readers visualize the sound and the image of how alligators will look falling into the water.

What does the folktale "The People Could Fly" says?

This folktale is a fantasy tale that says that the non-slaved Africans had wings, and they could fly from slavery to their freedom. The Africans used to sing magic words and fly away from slavery. This tale covers the different areas of social justice and tells how rights can be changed without encouraging discrimination.

These lines from the tale,' The people could fly', has the ability to make readers visualize the whole scene of alligators falling into the water with a splashing sound.

Therefore, option 'D', what the alligators sound and look like when they fall into the water, is correct.

Which is not a function of the spell checker in your word processing program?
Goryan [66]

1) Checks for words that are spelled correctly but used incorrectly.

A spell checker is a computer program designed to check the spelling of words in a text, to identify which are misspelled and to provide options to correct them. It is based in spelling, but the program does not take into account the context in which the word is being used, therefore it can not indicate us which word is being used incorrectly.

I NEED HELP! Edgar Allen Poe uses a pair of rhyming words to describe trying to hold sand in "A dream WiThin a Dream". In a shor
Zigmanuir [339]

To describe trying to hold sand, Edgar Allan Poe uses these pair of rhyming words:

And I hold within my hand

Grains of the golden sand-

How few! Yet how they creep

Through my fingers to the deep.

The author is describing his lost of hope "In a night, or in a day / In a vision, or in none". He is talking about a goodbye, a sad moment where he feels the loss of his illusion, like grains of sand falling from his hands, falling deep while he weeps, he cries of sadness for the goodbye.

Please help me
at least 600-word book review .Book name is metro 2033
Oksi-84 [34.3K]
I have never read the book but I can help you write a book review.

Book review:

- Who is the main character (s)? Is she a boy or girl? Why does that matter?

Describe the main character in significant and discuss their life and how this evolves the plot. Also describe any other characters with significance that it would be important for readers to know.

- Mention the setting and how that is relevant to the events in the novel.

- What happens in this story? How does it start off? How does it end? What is the climax ( turning point) in the story ? Why is this the climax?

- Discuss the theme of the novel or at least the personal meaning to you. Why do you think the author wrote this? When was the novel written? Why is that even important?
- In your review it is important for you to discuss how you think the book is. Do you think it is a good read? Would you ask anyone else to read it. Also since there are always things we like to fix in a story, How would you change how things happened?

Please vote my answer branliest. Thanks.

Can someone please explain this please
musickatia [10]

you don't need to write out the entire sentence, only the word that needs an apostrophe. so the answer to #1 is "Susan's", the answer to #2 is "we'll" etc. etc.
