You can make many inferences on the representation of "lady-killers" in literature. One could assume that a man seeks power and control over others, especially the opposite gender. A sort of power that he perhaps couldn't receive conventionally; a lady-killer would've sought that power by other means. Lady-killers are deceitful, manipulative, and often insecure.
