Coates is so intentional in mentioning the word “body” because he is of the opinion that black boys should be responsible for their actions.

Why black boys should be responsible for their actions?

Coates wants every black boys to be responsible for his action instead of blaming others or something for it.

Moreover, all black boys are not alike in their actions. Everyone is unique in his own way. Black is not a reason for irresponsibility.
