The answer is a mild level of intellectual disability. The mild level of intellectual impairment has been determined by a tested IQ level of 50 to 55 to approximately 70. People categorized under this level are slower than the normal person in all developmental areas, they are still able to do daily life activities, there are no visible/physical characteristics, able to do reading and math skills up to grade 3 until 6, they can socialize and can function daily.
These terms illustrate how these two places viewed themselves. The Europeans saw China as being very far from them (and although geographically speaking the two locations are very far apart), they felt that the culture and the mentality was probably very different as well and felt that China was very far removed from Europe. The Chinese referring to their country as the Middle Kingdom most likely reflects the fact that they were very proud of their country and saw it as a very central power.
