The event happened on July 7, 1742 at St. Simons Island. It is a battle between English and Spanish forces where the English forces won over the Spanish forces. 

The Battle of Bloody Marsh was the only attempt that the Spanish forces made to invade Georgia during the War of Jenkins Ear.
