Two types of distractions can be attributed to phones -- texting and phone calls are common distractions when driving. Types of distracted driving can be split into three main categories according to the CDC: visual ("taking your eyes off the road"), manual ("taking your hands off the wheel"), and cognitive ("taking your mind off driving").
