Answer:

Outlines or contour lines are lines used to outline the shape or form of an image or show close-up shots. More delicate lines indicate a softer projection of a subject, while thicker lines draw viewers' attention. There are four basic kinds of contour lines: single contour, cross contour, continuous contour, and blind contour. Of the four, I think the most dominant in the painting is single contour lines. It is evident throughout the image, from the mountain, clouds, birds, trees, and lake. The use of more refined lines, which denote a softer tone, is emphasized in the art.

Technically, the painting is horizontal because one should begin left to right to fully appreciate its wonder. However, it could also be vertical. One viewer could examine it top to bottom or down up. In this case, there are two possible answers: horizontal and vertical.

My first impression of the painting is that it gives me Japanese of Chinese vibes. It was confirmed when I saw the handwritten characters on the upper left part. I'm not sure whether it is Japanese or Chinese because I do not know their language, but you would understand that I'm referring to that area. In a sense, it's giving me a heavier Japanese perspective because of the mountain. It looks like Mt. Fuji, the very famous snow-capped mountain in Japan. When I saw this craft, I felt refreshed and at peace. The colors used by the painter are all in the blue family and a tiny pinch of off-pitch for the clouds. That is a very relaxing combination. I do not know, but the birds freely flying and sort of communicating is an added trophy that they are one with nature. Relaxed, care-free, and stress-free.
