Answer:

1.5

Step-by-step explanation:

First I convert it using the negative exponent rule

so 10^-7 becomes

   1

 ------

 10^7

(Dont ask how the negative exponent rule works i have no clue to be honest)

Now we have to do the 10^7

10^7 = 10000000

So the fraction is now

            1

------------------------

   10000000

What we have above equals 0.00000010

So we got that part now we have to do

5 * 0.00000010 = 0.00000050

So now we have (0.00000050) x ( 3 x 10^6)

Its fairly easy from here

first we do

10^6 = 1000000

then we do

3x1000000 = 3000000

Now we have

(0.00000050) * (3000000)

The parentheses are useless at this point so we can just remove them

0.00000050 * 3000000 which gets us to.. 1.5

I hope this is better than my last answer lol.. this hurt my head

(5*10^{-7} )*(3*10^{6} ) = (5*3) *(10^{-7} *10^{6} ) = 15*(10^{(-7) + 6} ) = 15 * 10^{-1} =0.15*10^{1}

Hope that helps!

Georgia [21]

Answer:

(1)55.5 feet

(2)7.5 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Question 1</u>

The diagram is attached below.

Using Trigonometric ratio

\tan 48^\circ = \dfrac{h}{50} \\h=50 \times \tan 48^\circ\\h=55.5$ feet (to the nearest tenth)

The height of the house is 55.5 feet to the nearest tenth.

<u>Question 2</u>

In the diagram, we are required to find the distance the bird must fly to be directly above the fish. This has been represented by x.

Using Trigonometric ratio

\tan 15^\circ = \dfrac{2}{x} \\x \tan 15^\circ=2\\x=2 \div \tan 15^\circ\\x=7.5 $ feet (to the nearest tenth)

The distance the bird must fly to be directly above the fish is 7.5 feet.

Explanation:

  1. Skipping

  3. Corresponding angles are ones where they are in the same configuration of the 4 corner angle set up. Angles A and E are in the same northwest position. Another pair would be angles B and F in the northeast, and so on. Corresponding angles are congruent when we have parallel lines like this.
  4. Vertical angles form when we cross two lines. They are opposite one another and always congruent (regardless if the lines are parallel or not).
  5. Alternate interior angles are inside the parallel lines, and they are on alternating sides of the transversal cut. Alternate interior angles are congruent when we have parallel lines like this.
  6. Alternate exterior angles are the same idea as number 5, but now we're outside the parallel lines. Alternate exterior angles are congruent when we have parallel lines like this.
  7. Adjacent angles can be thought of as two rooms that share the same wall. Specifically, adjacent angles are two angles that share the same segment, line, or ray. The angles must also share the same vertex. In this case, any pair of adjacent angles always adds to 180 (though it won't be true for any random pair of adjacent angles for geometry problems later on).
  8. Simply list any angle that looks obtuse, ie any angle that is larger than 90 degrees.
  9. List any angle that is smaller than 90 degrees. It can be adjacent to whatever you picked for problem 8, but it could be any other acute angle as well.
  10. Refer to problem 7. In this case, adding any two adjacent angles together forms a straight line.

A coordinate plane with a line passing through the points (negative 4, negative 5) and (1, negative 1).
Ksju [112]

Answer:

4x - 5y - 9 = 0

\frac{9}{4}

\frac{-9}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a straight line passing through the points (-4,-5) and (1,-1) is given by \frac{y - (-5)}{-5-(-1)} =\frac{x-(-4)}{-4-1}

⇒ \frac{y+5}{-4} =\frac{x+4}{-5}

⇒ 5y + 25 = 4x + 16

⇒ 4x - 5y - 9 = 0 ....(1) (Answer)

Now, this above equation can be represented as

\frac{x}{\frac{9}{4} } + \frac{y}{\frac{-9}{5} } =1

Therefore, the x-intercept is \frac{9}{4} (Answer)

And the y-intercept is \frac{-9}{5}. (Answer)
