How many times would a member and a non member have to rent a boat in order to pay the same amount
Yakvenalex [24]
X = number of times they rent a boat.

Members
Cost = 105 + 9.50x
Non-members because members don't have to pay the 105 so we gotta leave it out.
Cost = 14.75x

Now to determine whether the cost would be equal, we need to set the two equations equal to each other.

105 + 9.50x = 14.75x

Now solve for x

105 = 5.25x

20 = x

That's your answer. They would have to rent 20 times to equal each other.

I need help to do this question?
avanturin [10]

Answer:

you multiply 2 by everything in the first parenthesis and get 2x+10

then you multiply -3 by everything in the second parenthesis and get -3x-18

so you have 2x+10-3x-18

combine like terms and you get -1x-8 or -x-8

If four friends can eat four cakes in four days, then how many cakes can 10 friends eat in 10 days?
Rom4ik [11]
If four friends can eat four cakes in four days, then four friends will eat an average of one cake per day, so each friend will be able to eat 1/4 of a cake per day.So 10 friends will eat 10/4 of cake per day, or two and a half cakes per day, so they will eat 2,5 * 10 = 25 (twenty-five) cakes per 10 days, assuming they will eat at the same rate
