Anni [7]

An example of due process of law is guaranteed by the fifth amendment is:

B. Being given a fair trial before a jury.

Further explanation

The Fifth Amendment to the US Constitution allows defendants to have the right to a fair trial and protects them against the government. Be able to have a jury trial is not the only right that the fifth amendment provides. It allows two other important things too such as:

 • the prohibition to be judged twice for the same crime;
 • to have to testify against oneself.

A jury is a group of citizens, randomly selected from the population to attend a trial and then make a final decision on the case. Once chosen, the citizen has to fulfill this role as a duty. The juries usually consist of 12 citizens. They are allowed to ask questions to the accused to make the best decision. Then, the jury will debate and decide the accused is guilty or not.

This right is a great democratic advance. It protects American citizens from corruption. The judgments made by one man, who may be wrong or decide to make the wrong decision, are more likely to be unfair than collective judgments.

Write a letter to the founding fathers. Tell them at least 3 things that are different and similar to their time.
kolezko [41]

Answer:

Dear Founding Fathers;

Our country, much like previous times, is divided. We can only hope to take your past examples and implement measures to close this gaping chasm that has since spread between our people. Our society, though different in the way in which we dress and behave, is very similar in our basic princiapls. We still believe in equality, thogh some may be trying to belittle that law, just as much as we believe in the greatness of America. We have, however, lost sight of your warnings about foreign policies. We have begun to mess with other countries, sometimes to our downfall. Our country, so small and inncoent before, has since gained a knowledge and power rivaled by not to many other countries. Our country, despite our differences, is just as great as when you first declared the unification of these 50 states.
