The United States responded to the Syrian migrant crisis by pledging to take in at least 10,000 refugees into the country as a humanitarian gesture. This came in to lots of criticism, especially from some of the European Union's members like Sweden, Germany, the UK, Belgium, France, which all took in much more migrants even though they are much smaller countries with much smaller populations than the United States.
