Space in art refers to the emptiness or area around, (or between, above, below, within, etc.) objects. Positive space is the shapes or forms of interest, (the actual art part) and negative space is the empty space between the shapes or forms.
The chord is composed of three notes; the first, third and fifth note of the scale of the chord. This is for major chords. For minor, it is going to be different.
